Method Contribution: Matt earned his Sociology degree from the University of Massachusetts, Boston in 2008. He began his career at Travelers Insurance as a Subrogation Specialist. After 5 years at Travelers, Matt transitioned to Underwriting at FirstComp Markel, where he wrote work comp accounts. Matt was promoted twice, first to Strategic Partner Underwriter and then to Sr. Strategic Partner Underwriter. Matt helped build FirstComp Markel’s NorthEast book from a few million to over 12 million in just 2 years. After over 5 years at Markel, he moved to AmerTrust Insurance as a Senior Underwriter, before joining the Method team. Matt’s experience and deep understanding of work comp underwriting has brought great value to our team. His favorite thing about Underwriting is the opportunity to “interact and build relationships with agents.”
Hobbies: Born and raised in northern New England, Matt enjoys all things summer. He loves spending time outdoors, playing golf, exercising, and hanging with friends and family. Matt’s favorite place to golf is Rochester Golf Course. He currently resides in MA with his wife (Aimee), their toddler (Luca), and their “sometimes terrifying” Yorkie (Oliver).
